EKCÖLAB Community and Departments

In EKCÖLAB, we work in a collaborative team work setting. Our team members work in different departments or disciplines according to their qualifications and passion. Every member deserves respect for each other and work load is being shared without discrimination. The members work as volunteers towards achieving the organization's goals and related projects to make it successful. EKCÖLAB involves girls in the majority of her activities in order to train them as future water and environmental leaders, striking a balance and paving the way for more women to be involved in strategic decision making when it comes to water projects.

The organization is divided into 8 major departments according to its main area of interests and operations to solve water and environmental problems at local and global levels in communities.

EDUCATION DEPARTMENT
They are responsible for all educational outreach programmes and training. They provide the training structure, materials, and student registration, as well as set up all necessary facilities for any programme involving training at both the local and professional skill levels.They will also be able to teach and provide soft-copy materials.

IT DEPARTMENT

This arm involve both computer science and engineering professionals. They build websites, mobile applications, and other related software programs, alert systems, monitoring and sensing systems. They work to control all digital and online activities.

DEPARTMENT OF GENDER EQUALITY

They bring in gender inclusion, gender mainstreaming, and screening of all materials, including articles, research writings, and other reports, to make sure they meet the balance needed for fair and just activities and programmes the organisation is running. They work with the education department to organise women's empowerment programmes and the girl child projects to educate them to be practically involved in decision-making for any project the organisation is carrying out in any community. They work towards  making a balance in the work force by the inclusion of women in the overall staff of the organization.

 
DEPARTMENT OF RESEARCH

This arm is in charge of researching water and environmental problems and issues in order to propose solutions that will benefit local communities.They carryout scientific and engineering research and provide the best scientific and engineering approach for solving the world's global problems. They write articles, journals, and guide materials for awareness and educational purposes when necessary.

DATA SCIENCE DEPARTMENT (SCIENTIFIC DATA)

This arm gathers and analyse all scientific data pertaining to water and environmental issues.They use this data to predict future events such as epidemic outbreaks, environmental degradation, climate change statistics, floods, landslides. They use data to study the present and future and provide good strategies and decision making for communities to plan in case of early warning of human catastrophes.

DEPARTMENT OF ANALYTICAL SCIENCE

This group focus on carrying out all the quantitative and qualitative analysis of water resources by doing water testing, quality assurance, and quality control for various water sources. They are involved in laboratory assignments and reports.

 

DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNIQUES

They work by overseeing all environmental fieldwork and operations. They use their skills to improve workers' safety in the field. They use real-time monitoring software to track and monitor the levels of contaminants in the various community water sources, allowing them to take immediate action to prevent further pollution or contamination. They improve on environmental cleanup campaigns and carry out catchment protection for different water sources. They provide opinions with respect to any project to be implemented by providing the best impact assessment analysis. They conduct environmental assessments of local communities to determine which communities are most vulnerable to contamination (waterborne diseases, landslides, floods, and so on).

DEPARTMENT OF PEER REVIEW AND WRITINGS

They are in charge of all reading, proof-reading, and corrections of written articles, journals, organisational reports from all other departments, training materials and handouts (books). advertisements, informal and formal letters, announcements, certificates, website write-ups, and product stickers. They check on the structure, formats, English used, and other minor errors so as to make corrections if needed.
